Labourer - Workshop / Site

James Steel Staircases make brand new staircases and have a workshop and office in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
We need a Labourer to assist the team in the day to day running of the workshop and also going out on site.
Experience in the staircase/ building industry is not required but experience in a warehouse, workshop, or general manufacturing capacity would be useful.
Workshop responsibilities will include:
- Keep working areas clean and tidy throughout the day
- Keep storage areas neat and well organised
- Adhering to all H&S policies and procedures
- Lifting involved in the role
- Taking deliveries
- Loading and unloading vans / lorries / trucks
- Wrapping staircases for delivery
- General maintenance and upkeep of the workshop
- Preparation of timber parts – gluing & sanding
Site responsibilities will include:
- Keep working areas clean and tidy throughout the day
- Adhering to all H&S policies and procedures
- Assisting fitters with installing staircases
- Loading and unloading vans / lorries / trucks
- Organising and loading tools / equipment in and out of vans / site
- Lifting involved in the role

Wood Machinist - Staircase Industry

- Preparation of staircase parts using a variety of woodworking machinery including table saw, cross cut saw, over hand planer, thicknesser, bandsaw and spindle moulder
- Candidate would be expected to read drawings and select and size timber economically from stock material to create the parts needed.
- Have experience in the safely of using machinery and keeping machines maintained and safe at all times.
- Salary dependant on experience.

CAD / CAM Trainee

Staircase CAD / CAM Technician Internship
Details:
We are a bespoke timber stair company based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. Our process consists of carrying out site surveys and then draw/design in CAD and solidworks. Once approved by the customer we apply machining to all the parts in the CAD model to be manufactured in the workshop. Most parts get machined on a 5 axis CNC machine. We are looking to train someone in getting the parts from the CAD model onto the machine with correct tooling using CAD/CAM software.
We are looking for someone methodical, focused and enthusiastic. We will provide all training and the right candidate will have the opportunity to progress and learn other parts of the business also including solidworks and stairbiz software.
